MISSIONARIES ON WHEELS

wheels2the closest thing to putting wings on a pastor who has no transportation ….

…. to take him to the surrounding villages to proclaim the Good News and plant churches

Completing The Call‘s “Missionaries on Wheels” initiative is one of our most important things we do.

The reason is simple: missionaries on foot can only cover so much ground, and that not quickly! We want them to be able to cover as much territory as possible as quickly as possible.

Our Missionaries on Wheels initiative gives you the opportunity to make a huge impact in reaching the unreached in India. An investment in providing transportation to these pastors produces one of the highestreturns of any kingdom investment we can make – it is a “big, BIG bang for the buck”.

You see, these pastors live in rural, impoverished areas and almost none can afford to purchase a motorcycle or small car. Until they have transportation they go as far as they can by foot or by infrequently running buses from their home villages taking the gospel to surrounding villages. Some walk five miles or more to conduct bible studies in neighboring villages. A vehicle not only greatly expands their territory but frees up the time they had to spend walking.

wheels3The majority of the time the vehicle of choice is a 100 cc motorcycle, like the one shown here, that is so prevalent on the roads in India. They are inexpensive to buy and operate, and can go anywhere. For only $2,000 (including registration & insurance) you, your church, Christian group, or business or organization can put an indigenous Indian missionary pastor on wheels taking the Gospel to multiple surrounding villages.

wheels1Pastors with children can sometimes get by with just a motorcycle but a small four-wheeler like the one shown is the vehicle of choice.  KGM has had success recently buying good, low-mileage cars like this and is optimistic that more good used cars like this can be found.  For $10,000 (including registration & insurance) you or group can provide a a KGM pastor and his family with good, reliable transportation. In situations where they need
a vehicle that can carry five or more people plus cargo the typical vehicle is a microvan like this 660 cc Honda.

Other vehicular  needs include mini-buses and small utility vehicles.

One of our most urgent needs is for a small bus that comfortably seats 16 for transporting outreach teams and for the children’s homes.

CTC and KGM are dedicated to being good stewards of your resources. When funds are made available to purchase a vehicle KGM makes every effort to purchase a low-mileage, relatively new vehicle that is in very good to excellent condition. However, quality used vehicles are rare in India as most owners ‘drive them till they drop’. Currently we need 10 motorcycles for pastors who have no form of personal transportation, and four small cars. If you are considering supporting our Missionaries on Wheels initiative please read:
