MICRO ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT ….
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Completing The Call‘s “Micro-Enterprise Develop” initiative is an extremely important element in our support of indigenous pastors, and arguably one of the most important.
Why? Because it is imperative for them personally, and for insuring rapid church planting that they become financially independent as quickly as possible. And, this is a great way to accomplish that.
One of our key core values concerning the pastors we support is “God-dependent, self- sufficiency”. We want to help them become independent of everyone except God in every way – especially in the area of finances.
We believe it is infinitely better to “teach a man to fish” than to “feed him fish”. So we “feed them” only while we’re “teaching them to fish”.
We do this through our Micro-Enterprise Development initiative which is comprised of two components:
Typically these business opportunities are ones that require relatively small start-up costs and can support them and their families while still allowing them sufficient time for their ministry. In some case, these enterprises will be able to provide jobs for other believers as well. Ideally, they will be able to generate additional income to help fund the pastor’s church planting efforts.Business assistance & training
CTC partners with people like you to provide funds from which these non-interest bearing loans are made. These loans are only made after an application and business plan has been submitted, reviewed and approved. The application is reviewed first by KGM’s director and staff then forwarded to CTC for final approval. Once approved, funds are dispersed by CTC through KGM. The recipient is required to submit monthly reports of income and expenditures with accompanying receipts, a written progress report and pictures. Progress is reported back to us and then to you. These funds are maintained and tracked in a separate designated CTC account in which we receive donations, lend the funds and receive/track repayments. Repayments are left in the account to be lent to other qualifying applicants.Micro-lending
