Chicken Raising Farm
“Give a man a fish and you have fed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for life.”
Project Description: This is a chicken growing operation. One-month old chicks will be picked up from their owner and returned when they are fully grown (approx.1.5 kg) in 45 days. The owner will pay 18 rs (~$.29) for each chick raised. Projected return on investment is 47% during debt repayment and 67% thereafter.
A facility that will accommodate 3,500 chickens will be constructed on a ½ acre parcel of land provided by one of the KGM believers. The only cost will be any government fees and taxes due on the land.
CTC’s Micro Enterprise Development Fund will provide a loan to cover 100% of the construction & start-up costs which will be repaid without interest monthly over a 5 year period.
When fully operational, this project will provide funds for supporting Karnataka Gospel Mission pastors. So you can see this would help the ministry of KGM go a long way to becoming self-sufficient.
