House parent Sponsor

You can sponsor a children’s home staff member for $75/month

If you’re a children’s ministry worker yourself you can imagine how demanding a job this is and you’ll know how to be an encourager, counselor and idea person for them!

“Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest Is a faithful messenger to those who send him …” Proverbs 25:13

These are the live-in house parents and other full-time workers for the children’s homes. The house parent job is a 24/7, all consuming job. And, while the other workers job may not be 24/7 it can be nearly as consuming.  So sponsoring a children’s home staff member is more than just money. They need encouragement and prayer too. So your role as a sponsor is a lot more than just monetary support.  Your encouragement with frequent communication thru emails and letters is just as essential as your financial support.

If you are only able to contribute financially, you may want to contribute to the KGM Children’s Homes Operations & Special Needs Fund which is also vital.

The house parents are single women, mothers whose children are in the home, or married couples. They live in the home and provide the routine daily needs of the children: love, guidance, supervision, help with studies, help leading bible studies and pray times, cooking and whatever needs arise. They have the greatest impact on the children’s physical, emotional and spiritual well being.

The demands and responsibilities on these house parents are huge. Theirs can sometimes be a thankless job with few breaks. That’s why they need your prayers and encouragement through regular communication.

When you sign up to sponsor a children’s home staff member you are partnering with them to give these children a loving environment where they are raised “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord”.

This is an especially great opportunity for children’s ministry workers in your church – for them to share their knowledge and ideas with their indigenous counter parts.

When you do this we make a commitment to you and ask that you make a commitment to your house parent and to the ministry.  If you are considering sponsoring a house parent please read:
